I've struggled with cold fingers for years and I've tried 15+ pairs of gloves over the past 5 or 6 years. These finally seemed to be the perfect combo last winter, and the only ones I used. I've always thought mittens were warmest, by far. But, you can't do anything with them. With these, I just flip over and have my fingers in a second layer glove for set-up / reeling and then flip-over if I start to get chilly. I'll be buying a second pair for this coming winter as a back-up (I've been known to lose gloves =) )
